Similar in appearance to other ‘broad bean’ varieties, the Egyptian variety produces a prolific number of smaller pods/beans on a more compact and sturdy plant.

The shorter growing height and sturdy branches of this variety help it to withstand windy conditions, however staking will be required to produce best results and reduce the possibility of damage to the plants. Versatile vegetable that also makes an excellent, highly effective manure crop.

These broad beans are also commonly known as Fava beans.
