The Tongue of Fire Bean is also know as: Borlotto Lingua di Fuoco; Borlotti Bean;

This large, stringless bush bean grows highly attractive pods to about 15cm long containing 7-8 equally as attractive red splashed beans. Known for its wonderful creamy and nutty flavour, this heirloom variety is perfect for drying. Originally from the tip of South America – Tierra del Fuego it made its way to Italy where it has become a staple hearty food.

Grow in full sun once the risk of frost has passed. While technically more a bush than climbing bean a trellis or similar structure is recommended to support the plant and its abundant harvest. A great crop to grow for those who are pushing for a self-sufficient pantry.
