White Vienna Kohlrabi Seeds
This lovely variety has a pale green skin with crisp and tender flesh. Harvesting Kohlrabi can begin as early as 9 weeks for baby vegetables or let mature till 12 weeks.
Although the White Vienna variety is sometimes described as less sweet than its purple cousin, more often than not the taste is indistinguishable and selection is based on colour preference.
Kohlrabi is cold and frost tolerant and able to be grown in pots and protect from caterpillars.
Heath and Culinary Notes
- Highly nutritious with more vitamin C than oranges.
- This is a true multipurpose vegetable, boil and serve with butter, mash or slice raw into a salad.
- For something a little different, coat cooked kohlrabi in egg and breadcrumbs before frying.
