NZ Warrigal Greens Spinach Seeds

While technically not spinach, this Australian/NZ native is used in the same way and is becoming a must have in many gardens. Fast growing and tasty the leaves are arrow shaped and thicker than regular spinach. Great for hot weather and can be picked over a long period.

Regular harvesting makes for more dense growth. Easy to grow, but with rich soil or a some nitrogen fertiliser, it is nearly unstoppable.

Health & Culinary Notes

  • This highly recommended tasty “spinach” can be steamed, added to stir fries, soups and one pot cooking!
  • Leaves do contain oxalic acid so ensure they are blanched or steamed before eating.
  • Highly nutritious, a great source of folic acid, iron, and vitamins A and C.
