Nantes Early Carrot Seeds

This early season carrot is an heirloom classic. The roots produced are smooth, tender and have a fine texture making them ideal for fresh eating while still storing reasonably well once harvested. The natural sweetness of these carrots also makes for an ideal juicing carrot.

Nantes Early carrots will often grow quicker than other varieties making it ideal for succession planting. Roots commonly grow 15-18cm in length and have a rounded point.

For best results and to avoid stunted growth and ‘wonky’ carrots cultivate the soil to a depth of approx. 25cm ensuring it is free of large stones. For the sweetest carrots, sow seed while weather is warm and allow for maturing into the cooler winter/autumn months.
