A favourite, early maturing variety with tasty large purple tipped spears. This variety has good rust resistance.

Male plants are significantly more productive, so remove female plants which are identifiable by red (poisonous) berries. Although it can take 3 years to produce these delectable spears, plants will last up to 20 years.

• Perfect variety to steam and serve with butter.
