Great Lakes Lettuce

The Great Lakes lettuce is a large crunchy and sweet Iceberg variety with dark green leaves and a solid heart. The bonus characteristic of the Great Lakes variety is that it is very slow going to seed in summer.

Hint: For best germination results sow seed in the cool of the evening and water in with very cold water.

Health & Culinary

A good source of vitamin A and potassium, the Great Lakes is tasty in sandwiches and salads and also known to be an alternative to shredded cabbage.
