Champion collard is an easy to grow heirloom variety. It is an extremely hardy vegetable that tolerates frost particularly well, often increasing the sweetness.
While more compact in form than the ‘Georgian Southern’ variety ‘Champion’ will still produce an abundance of large tasty leaves. It is slow to bolt.
Collards are described as an open hearted leafy cabbage so if you love cabbage but do not want to wait for a heart to form collards are perfect for your garden.
Like all Brassicas collards will need protection from white cabbage moth.
