Often called ‘Celery Lettuce’ or ‘Asparagus Lettuce’, the leaves of this unusual vegetable are like common lettuce, while the crisp celery tasting stems are harvested when approx 30cm long.
Very easy to grow and makes for a great choice if you are looking for something a little different in your garden.
Health & Culinary Notes
- Young leaves are great as a salad.
- Mature stems can an be pealed, sliced and eaten raw in salads, cooked in a stir fry or beautiful when steamed.
- Good source of potassium and vitamin C.
