Black Toscana Kale Seeds

Also known as ‘borecole’, this beautiful Italian curly variety of kale grows an abundance of dark tasty blistery leaves. Although late maturing, this nutritious, eye catching variety is worth the wait!  Why not try to train your kale plants into ‘kale trees’? Follow this link for Gardening Australia’s ‘Kale Tree’ tutorial by Presenter – Hannah Maloney.

May need protection from caterpillars in warmer weather, this stunning plant is an excellent hardy addition to the cool climate garden.

Health & Culinary Notes

  • Eat young leaves raw or add older leaves to soups and quiches.
  • With a little olive oil, salt and a warm oven, why not try kale “chips” for a healthy snack.
  • Extremely nutritious, an excellent source of beta carotene, calcium and vitamins E, C and K.
