Aspen Swede is a hardy, high-yielding variety that produces smooth, round roots with attractive purple tops and creamy-yellow flesh. Known for its mild, sweet flavour and fine texture ‘Aspen’ holds together well making it perfect for roasting or winter casseroles.

Aspen has excellent storage qualities, a perfect winter vegetable.

Frost can improve the sweetness so, if you live in a frosty area be sure to harvest after the first few frosts for optimal flavour. Swedes also like a rich soil so be sure to add compost or blood & bone when preparing your beds.

Once a common staple, we think swede deserves to be back on every dining room table.
